So, as I wrote earlier Liverpool's first pre-season game went really well with them beating Preston North End by 4 clear goals.
The rest of the pre-season went really really well.
It went like this:
Indonesia XI 0 - 2 Liverpool FC (Coutinho and Sterling)
Melbourne Victory 0 - 2 Liverpool FC (Stevie and Aspas)
Thailand 0 - 3 Liverpool FC (Coutinho, Aspas and Gerrard)
In the middle was Steven Gerrard's rather emotional testimonial where Liverpool played Olympiakos and won 2-0 with Joe Allen and Jordan Henderson getting on the score sheet.
Valarenga 1 - 4 Liverpool FC (Aspas, Alberto, Kelly and Sterling)
The final pre-season game didn't go the way Liverpool wanted as they were beaten 1-0 by Celtic in Dublin.
As a whole the pre-season was extremely successful for Brendan Rodgers and his team. Looking at the season so far, this has clearly had a huge impact on the results we have achieved so far - will they be able to carry this on for the rest of the season? Will they be able to finish in the top 4 or higher?
Only time will tell.
