Tuesday's Capital One Cup games

The game I chose to watch out of the 5 tonight was Reading V Arsenal, here is what I made of it along with the scores from the other 4 games on night one of the Capital One Cup fourth round.

Reading 5 - 7 Arsenal

What will Wenger do now, losing this game, hardly having a good time in the Champions League and off the pace in the Premier League....can they really turn it around?

This is what I would of said at half-time but not after the rest of that thrilling game. So I definitely predicted wrong, Reading being 3-0 within the first 20 minutes was not was I thought was going to happen. I guess its true what they say that things aren't always as they seem! Arsenal didn't even start very brightly, more sluggish and lethargic - not something you would expect from a team who want to be up there winning the trophies. Ten minutes from half time Reading make it 4-0, making it look seamlessly easy in the process. Walcott brings the slightest relief on 46 minutes by giving Arsenal a goal back as their fans start chanting 'we want our Arsenal back' - but would they really be able to overturn the deficit in the second half?

Second half, Reading start so lively and put Arsenal on the back-foot  they are just pinning them back into their own half. Nearly another own goal from Miquel. Arsenal looked sloppy especially with the talented Jason Roberts pulling the strings for this Reading side and honestly making it look easy to take Arsenal apart during the first 10 mins of second half.

Then Arsenal began to get better, taking it to 4-2, Giroud netting within minutes of coming on. Arsenal were beginning to look good, intensity, passing and movement was much better, could they really pull this off. Admittedly it had all gotten a bit dull until Arsenal somehow manage to get a controversial 4th goal in the 5th minute of what should only have been 4 minutes of added time. Extra time was looming.

After the shock of the first half, a defiant Arsenal managed to pull of the inevitable and win 7-5 in extra time, but they were certainly made to work for it.

Also, credit to Reading who valiantly fought hard to keep their half-time 4-1 lead, but it was just not to be although now they need to take this fighting spirit into the Premier League and start winning games because we know they know how to score some goals especially after tonight!

The other results:

Leeds 3-0 Southampton
Sunderland 0-1 Middlesbrough (at least I got one right!)
Swindon 2-3 Aston Villa
Wigan 0-0 Bradford - Bradford win 4-2 on penalties

Roll on the rest of the fourth round games tomorrow evening!

Predictions in the Capital One Cup Fourth Round

Here are my predictions for all the games in the fourth round....

Tuesday 30th October:

Leeds 1 - 2 Southampton
(Southampton may still be searching for their Premier League form but I believe they have enough power to overcome Warnock's Leeds.)

Reading 2 - 3 Arsenal
(Reading have done ok so far this season and I do think their will be an upset somewhere in these fixtures but I believe Arsenal are strong enough to avoid any slip ups here.)

Sunderland 0 - 1 Middlesbrough
(I think this will be the game where a Premier League side goes out to a lower placed side. I think Middlesbrough have more momentum at the moment and more fire power behind them.)

Swindon 0 - 2 Aston Villa
(Aston Villa have had their problems in the Premier League but I don't think Swindon should pose too much of a threat for them.)

Wigan 3 - 0 Bradford
(I think this should be an easy one for Roberto Martinez and his Wigan side.)

Wednesday 31st October:

Norwich 1 - 0 Tottenham
(I was really tempted to go for a 0-0 scoreline here but I went 1-0 Norwich as they seem like the better side to me at the moment.)

Chelsea 2 - 1 Manchester United
(I honestly can't see either side putting out 'strong' sides but Chelsea will be out for revenge and I believe they will just edge it.)

Liverpool 3 - 0 Swansea
(A little bit optimistic, but I'm a red I have to be lol! But in all seriousness, I believe Liverpool will give it their all and I don't Swansea bringing much attacking wise.)

Lets see how these predictions go.......

My first game - Liverpool v Braga 17.03.11

My first Liverpool game was v Braga at Anfield on 17th March 2011. It was just an off chance that my mum had been told their were tickets left and with me, her and my brother being off we decided to go. My brother didn't know we were going till he got in from college as me and my mum went up to get the tickets from the box office on the day.

Even though we were eliminated from the Europa League this night, it was still a fantastic experience for me.

Here are a few pictures, sorry about poor quality!

My view on going games.

I love going to all Liverpool games and honestly I just love going, if we win admittedly that's better but even if we lose I am still grateful that I was able to go the game - as I know some fans are not able to go.

When on the Anfield tour.....

None, of the family had been on the Liverpool FC:Anfield Tour before. So when it was my younger brothers 18th back in March we all decided to go .... here are some pictures I managed to take whilst being in awe!

The brilliant Darren Farley!
